the Isles of Scilly's unique air service
The helicopter route from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly is the longest established helicopter service anywhere in the world.
No other community in the UK depends upon a helicopter for its air link, and this unique service is the subject of this book which was produced to mark its 25th anniversary in 1989.
Written by Mike Ingham, the leading authority on Scilly's aviation history, the text traces the story in a way that will appeal to those with an interest in the area as well as those with a specialist interest in aviation.
The photographs - almost half of them in colour - cover the full 25 years since the service was established, and there is a foreword by Lord Wilson.
